My Story
Please support Kirsten in her journey with the Making Waves' Foundation's 80th Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race!

Kirsten Pollock is an accomplished sailor and volunteer with Rutland Sailability in the UK, with extensive experience racing dinghies, keelboats, and yachts. From a young age, Kirsten dreamed of competing in the Sydney to Hobart, and through the foundation, she is turning that ambition into reality — proving that disability does not limit one’s ability to achieve extraordinary goals.

Kirsten is a passionate advocate for inclusion, giving talks at Rotary clubs, schools, and community groups, inspiring both disabled and able-bodied sailors alike. Her participation in this high-profile offshore race represents an immense personal challenge and a demonstration that sailors of all abilities can compete on equal terms. Beyond the race, Kirsten hopes to develop her skills, forge lifelong friendships, and create lasting memories while showcasing determination, resilience, and teamwork at the highest level.
