My Story
For David, the Sydney to Hobart is about more than racing. Living with disability for 45 years, he wants to prove—to himself, to people with disability, and to the broader community—that we are capable of far more than many expect. “I want to get way outside my comfort zone, work the bow in all conditions, and be seen as a valued member of the crew.”
A lifelong sailor, David brings strong skills across the boat and a disciplined, team-first approach. Volunteering weekly with Making Waves, he sees this campaign as a chance to inspire others to push past their fears and never give up on their dreams.
“Last year gave me pride and gratitude. This year, I’m hungry for more—to challenge expectations, raise $3,500 for MWF, and show that what seems impossible can be achieved.”
